On our blog pages, we collect anonymized page views to measure the popularity of articles. This collection is completely anonymized and GDPR compliant.
We store an anonymized hash value (generated from browser information and date) to prevent duplicate counts on the same day. No IP addresses or other personal data are stored.
Legal Basis: Data processing is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in analyzing article popularity).
Storage Duration: The anonymized hash values are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Only the aggregated view counts per article remain stored.
External services and their data processing
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The integration is handled server-side via Cloudflare Zaraz – a tag management system running on Cloudflare's edge infrastructure.
Unlike traditional integration, the Google Analytics script is not loaded directly in your browser. Instead, Cloudflare Zaraz processes analytics data server-side on Cloudflare servers in the EU (European data centers). This means no direct connection is established between your browser and Google servers, providing enhanced privacy protection and improved website performance.
Google Analytics is used to statistically evaluate and improve website usage. Anonymized data on page views, session duration, devices used, and approximate location (country/region) is collected. Individual persons cannot be identified.
The following measures are active to protect your data: IP addresses are truncated before transmission to Google (IP anonymization). User agent strings are sanitized to remove sensitive browser and system information. Processing takes place on Cloudflare's EU servers. Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled – personal data is only processed once you have given your consent via the cookie banner.
Legal Basis: Usage is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings (gear icon in the bottom right). Without your consent, no analytics data is collected.
You can prevent data collection by Google Analytics at any time by withdrawing your consent in the cookie settings.
Datenübermittlung: Through server-side processing via Cloudflare Zaraz, direct data transfer from your browser to the USA is avoided. Data transfer from Cloudflare to Google is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy:

Cloudflare DatenschutzWe use "Cloudflare Turnstile" on this website to protect our forms from automated access (bot protection). The provider is Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, 80331 Munich, Germany (parent company: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA).
Turnstile checks whether data input on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is made by a human or by an automated program. The verification typically runs entirely in the background without requiring any user interaction.
Turnstile analyzes various browser behavior characteristics to distinguish humans from bots. Unlike Google reCAPTCHA, no cookies are set and no user movements are tracked. The analysis is based on non-invasive browser signals.
Legal Basis: Usage is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and spam.
